How big dreams shrink
Brian was on a winning streak. Until he hit a brick wall.
A re-org shook his world and cost him the allies who helped him get to a VP position. New management didn’t value, and even questioned, his work. He was ready to move to SVP, but failed to get others to see it. Even worse, his teenage daughter was ignoring him.
Each time he failed, he started to doubt himself. He set his sights lower and lower. By the time he came to me, his goals had shrunk.
I see this all the time. When people have failed, or when they think they have failed, their dreams get smaller.
Failure makes us fixate on the obstacles and shrinks our dreams. Success empowers us to focus on our dreams and shrinks the obstacles.
The most important ability we have that guarantees our success is the ability to be causative.
And that hinges on our ability to communicate. Because effective communication is how we make everything happen when it involves other people.
This is especially important now, in January. January is a month we make a new start, a month of hope, of optimism, of believing in ourselves and our ability to create the year we really want.
Causative communication, the ability to make what you want happen (because you communicate so effectively,) enables you to dream big.
How do you do it? Here are the steps:
approach other people with great affinity
really be present
don’t focus on the outcome, focus on being in the moment.
trade in “thinking” for knowing
communicate gently with strong intention, not forcefulness
listen and acknowledge
give up trying to do it all super-fast and trying to cram it into a short amount of time, just focus on generating a level of quality that creates an emotional impact and allow that to grow organically.
Causative communication creates great success, no doubt about it. I’ve seen it with thousands and thousands of people. And it works fast. Brian used Causative Communication to turn his life around, both at home and at work.
As you become more causative, your dreams become more real, more true, more what you really want.
Start with strong affinity for yourself and your dreams.
If you want help, come to an upcoming Causative Communication workshop. Brian came and it completely transformed his future.
Be the cause!
